About PureAirGuide

PureAirGuide is an independent air purifier reviews site run by a small team
of air-quality nerds. We test every product with real instruments,
publish our methodology openly, and never let brands dictate rankings.

Our Mission

The air inside your home is 2–5 times more polluted than the air outside,
according to the EPA. Yet most people don’t know how to choose an air purifier
that actually works, nor can they tell marketing copy apart from verified performance.

We built PureAirGuide to fix that. Our goal is simple: help you breathe cleaner
indoor air without wasting money on overpriced gimmicks, fake “HEPA-Type” filters,
or loud, energy-hungry boxes that barely move any air.

Every air purifier you read about on this site goes through the same
9-step hands-on evaluation:

We buy them ourselves. We do not accept free review units. This eliminates the #1 source of bias in reviews.
Sealed-room PM2.5 smoke test using a calibrated TSI 8530 particle counter.
AHAM-style CADR regression on all three particle sizes (smoke / dust / pollen).
Noise measurement on every fan setting with a Reed R8080 A-weighted sound-level meter at 1 m.
Energy draw over 72 hours with a Kill-A-Watt electricity meter.
Teardown inspection: we open every filter and weigh the activated carbon layer.
Long-term reliability: 30+ days of 24/7 runtime to catch motor and sensor drift.
Total cost of ownership: sticker price plus 2-year and 5-year filter+energy TCO.
